PAD-XL W Adiabatic Dry Cooler
for process fluidsMaximum efficiency, minimum water usage: PAD-XL W is Frigofluid’s proposed solution for adiabatic cooling of process fluids (typically water/water and glycol). It inherits the strengths of the PAD-V series, expanding its capabilities and offering even higher performance in terms of efficiency and savings. The smart choice for adiabatic cooling.
Water saving. PAD-XL W uses water only during warmer periods, with short wetting cycles that minimize water consumption.
Cooling efficiency. During hot weather, the adiabatic system lowers the inlet air temperature, increasing heat exchange efficiency and optimizing energy consumption.
Smart control. A PLC automatically manages operation once the operating parameters are set, optimizing wetting cycles and fan speed according to external conditions.

The PAD-XL W adiabatic dry cooler: how it works
PAD-XL W combines dry cooling with adiabatic pre-cooling to maximize efficiency.
- Dry operation. In cold periods, ambient air is drawn in and conveyed directly to the heat exchange coils, without the need for water.
- Adiabatic operation. During hot periods (or when a lower process fluid temperature than the outside temperature is needed), outside air passes through a high-efficiency humidifier pack, where it is pre-cooled before passing through the finned coils. This process greatly increases heat transfer efficiency, allowing it to work even at lower ambient temperatures.
