For small industrial and civil installations. Low thermal capacity, high cooling efficiency.
PAD-XS Adiabatic Dry Cooler
For process fluids of small plantsThe PAD-XS is the ideal solution for process cooling and small (20 – 50 kW) industrial and HVAC systems. With its compact design, small footprint, and low noise, PAD-XS offers high performance with minimal environmental impact.
Compact design. Ideal solution with small installation space.
Minimal water use. Due to adiabatic operation, running only during the hot season (or when a lower temperature of the fluid to be cooled than that of the outside air is required) and with short wetting cycles.
Resource optimization. Due to the interchange between dry and adiabatic operation to the standard PLC parameterization.
Prepared for Industry 4.0. Standard probes and PLC allow the customer to request remote monitoring of the solution.
Quick pay-back. Pre-selection together with the client, based on the client's project requirement.
PAD-XS adiabatic dry cooler: how it works
PAD-XS exploits the principle of adiabatic cooling to improve heat exchange efficiency: during warm seasons or the hottest times of the day, outside air is pre-cooled through a humidification process before being fed onto the finned coils. At other times of the year and day, PAD-XS operates as a standard dry cooler, with outside air as the only cooling medium.
All this results in lower fluid (usually water/water-glycol) outlet temperatures than conventional dry coolers, reducing energy use.
Some of the possible applications:
- mechanical industries,
- air conditioning in offices and hospitals,
- data centers.
Each unit in the PAD-XS series is fully accessible, for internal inspections, easily, quickly and safely. Low noise levels (a key aspect for civil settings) are also guaranteed.
Technical features of PAD-XS
- Operating modes: dry (dry) and adiabatic.
- Electronically controlled (EC) fans.
- Support structure made of press-folded galvanized sheet metal and then protected by a cycle of RAL 7016 epoxy paint.
- Heat exchange coil with copper tubes and aluminum fins. Coil angle, tube diameter, thickness and fin pitch designed to provide the best heat exchange performance with reduced airflow pressure drop.
- Adiabatic section composed of PVC flocked panels.
- Aluminum air inlet grille (easily removable) as protection of the adiabatic section.
- Temperature probes to measure outside air, fluid inside the coil, and humidified air inside the machine.
- Thermal capacity: 20 kW to 50 kW.
